February 26 Guest Artist Andi Barruffi
Monstrously Loveables
o matter what medium Andi Baruffi of MonstrousFish is working in, her purpose is to celebrate the joy of creating and, hopefully, inspire others to dive in and create something as well. She believes every person is an artist; they just need to find the art form that clicks and can unlock that joy of creation within them.

Baruffi's current focus is centered on her Monstrously Loveables - monster dolls that are sewn from a variety of fabrics, faux fur, buttons, and trimmings. Each plush monster is unique, with its own name and personality.

The Monstrously Loveables were born from a bad day. Having never gotten her sewing machine to work previously, Baruffi had a frustratingly bad day that she felt the need to "get out" - into a doll form. A frantic (and lucky) attempt resulted in her "Bad Day Doll," which sparked enough creative satisfaction that Baruffi continued making dolls, and eventually they evolved into the Monstrously Loveables. Inspiration from one bad day was turned into a source of joy and delight.
